The Sailor and His Bride in the Red River Gorge

I’m a sucker for a man in a Sailor uniform.  I think it stems from my father being a Navy man himself.  When I was a child I would love to look at old photos of him and his buddies on the deck of their ship.  So when we arrived at the parking lot to meet this cute couple, I admit, my heart skipped a beat when he stepped out of the car.

We actually did this ceremony in a new location…not new to my portraits, but new to the ceremony itself.  I’ve always loved this spot for late afternoon portrait sessions.  When we decided last minute that a hike out to Courthouse Rock would be too far of a hike for a few of the wedding guest, I suggested this spot instead.  It worked out beautifully!
